This program will develop your resuscitation skills and knowledge so you can confidently and competently manage a conscious casualty who requires supplemental oxygen, manage an unconscious non-breathing casualty, manage a casualty with life-threatening bleeding requiring torniquet and haemostatic dressing, and monitor and coordinate maintenance of resuscitation and oxygen therapy equipment.
This comprehensive and refreshingly practical course includes responding to emergency situations, performing resuscitation procedures, delivering oxygen therapy, communicating details to emergency services, and reviewing incidents.

Nationally Accredited Certification on Completion
On successful completion of this highly practical course, participants receive a statement of attainment for HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy. As per the recommendations of the Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace, people trained in CPR should refresh their CPR skills at least annually (every 12 months) in accordance with recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council Guideline 10.1. (Valid Australia wide)

HLTAID015 Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to persons who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation or oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities
Who should do advanced resus training?
This program is designed for work, or community groups who:
- hold a current and valid HLTAID011 Provide first aid certificate.
- require the knowledge and skills to use specialised equipment to provide oxygen therapy or resuscitation in line with the ARC Guidelines in a range of complex situations including:
- in a workplace.
- in a community setting.
- have strong communication skills and aspire to help people.
- are seeking self-improvement / professional development.

Study mode
The HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy program requires participants to attend a 1-day Practical Skill Workshop and 4-6 hours of pre-course self-study.
Please be aware that due to Nationally Registered Training assessment requirements, participants must be capable of performing CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. Contact us if you need to discuss any individual needs.

- Physical capability to participate in all practical exercises and realistic scenarios.
- Participants must be 14 years or older. Participants under 14 years must provide written permission to attend the course from their parent or guardian

Assessment
Tactical offers a 'hands on approach' with progressive assessment throughout the course, including multiple choice questionnaires, demonstration of CPR techniques using manikins, application of AED, oxygen resuscitation therapy and realistic scenarios.
